Fostering children’s emotional intelligence with Custom Learning Academy's founder and director Lisa Crosby will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at the KidZone Children’s Museum.
At this interactive session designed especially for parents, attendees will gain insights on the role emotions play in life and strategies for being healthy emotional coaches. The researched-backed presentation includes parent friendly techniques, examples and time for Q&A. Attendees will discover and discuss strategies to develop and enhance their child’s ability to perceive, control and evaluate emotions. Topics will include self-awareness and regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills. Parents and caregivers of young children between the ages of 4 and 7 are encouraged to attend this free community event. “Emotional Intelligence: The other kind of Smart” offers an interactive evening presentation for teens and adults with Christopher Old at Sierra College on Friday, Feb. 8. The key components of EI include self and social awareness as well as self and relationship management. Improving emotional intelligence means gaining insights on the role of emotions and reaction to those emotions. By experiencing hands-on activities and learning more about EI, attendees learn how to improve relationships and be better emotional coaches for children. This event promises authentic ways to improve emotional intelligence.
