Do you love the arts and the outdoors? Do you truly enjoy speaking in front of a group? And, are you a clear speaker and great storyteller? If YES, volunteer as a Trails & Vistas Art Hike guide this September 6 and 7. An insightful, fun and tasty training brunch will take place at The Cedar House Sport Hotel on Sunday, May 18. For details, e-mail Volunteer Coordinator Paula Messano at paula@trailsandvistas.org.
What is an art hike?
Trails and Vistas art hikes blend art experiences with nature. This year’s art hikes, based on the theme of “"Meadows to Mountains – A Cultural Journey" will take place along an aspen lined trail at Spooner Lake in the Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park on Sept. 6 and 7. Attendees will experience nearly a dozen original performances along the guided hike. Featured artists include work by “earthscape” artist Andres Amador, a performance by InnerRythms Dance Theatre plus original art by poets, storytellers and visual artists. The hike is recommended for physically healthy adults and active (and respectful!) children who are accustomed to hiking at high altitude for three hours. The guided hikes are co-hosted by Lake Tahoe Nevada State Parks.
Prefer to attend rather than volunteer? Purchase tickets before they sell out!
Art hike: $30 /adult, $10 / child (ages 5 to 12). Admission increases to $40 per adult and $15 per child after July 15.
