Sierra College's Tahoe-Truckee student art club, More Creative, announces the third annual Student Art Show on the Tahoe-Truckee campus. There will be an opening reception will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011.
“The art show has received excellent community support and reflects the creativity, individuality and talent of Sierra College students and alumni. The show is a wonderful celebration of our students,” said Pam McAdoo, artist and Sierra College art instructor. She adds, “We expect 100 entries and, based on attendance at the opening reception last year, about 400 attendees.”
The juried show is open to students who are currently enrolled as well as anyone who has completed a Sierra College class in the last five years. Entries will be accepted in multiple categories including drawing, painting, design, digital art, photography, and ceramics.
The show will be on display at Sierra College's Tahoe-Truckee campus from Friday, May 6 to May 13, 2011. McAdoo encourages community members of all ages to attend the festive opening celebration, which will include an interactive component and an opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice award. The community is also invited to visit the campus during the week of May 9-13 to view the Spring Art Show’s variety and high quality artwork.
Local artists will serve as jurors, and prizes donated by local businesses will be awarded in several categories. More Creative is excited to sponsor the Third Annual Student Art Show at Sierra College, Tahoe-Truckee.
