It's that time of day. Stomach grumbling. Food's on the mind. Time to nourish. Time to commit to culinary excellence...
Time to book a lunch lecture or the complete four part lunch-lecture series, “Culinary Tour de France,” at Stella in Truckee, CA. Join Executive Chef Jacob Burton one Saturday a month from March through June 2014 for a multi-course educational lunch. The Culinary Tour de France will focus on techniques, influences and food culture. Each afternoon session includes dishes and wine pairings constructed to showcase the unique nature of the specific region being discussed:
"The cooking techniques perfected by the French are a driving force in western cuisine, which is why they're still considered the backbone of many traditional culinary school curriculums, from the Culinary Institute of America to Le Cordon Bleu,” explains Chef Jacob. “By taking a focused look at each specific region of France and their culinary traditions, we're able to gain a greater knowledge of the history and influences that drive professional level cooking techniques. It's also a great opportunity to taste obscure French wines that are specifically selected to pair with each regional dish."
TIME: 12 to 2:30 p.m.
COST: $97 per person (plus tax) and an additional $33 per person for wine pairing.
RESERVATIONS: The Cedar House - (530) 582-5655 or Stay@cedarhousesporthotel.com (“Culinary Tour De France” in the subject line)
