The Cedar House Sport Hotel has delighted visitors from near and far since opening in 2006. With the introduction of Tahoe Teasers this summer, the proprietors, Patty and Jeff Baird, are taking the Tahoe experience to a new level by connecting guests to local adventure guides who share their expertise and favorite trails.
Over the past two months, the Tahoe Teasers have attracted a loyal following from Reno and Tahoe residents as well as hotel guests who love the variety and welcoming offerings including birding, morning yoga hike, wilderness journaling and an endurance trek beginning with breakfast at Stella. Today, The Cedar House announces "Finding Words in Nature" with author and hiking guide Tim Hauserman, a Tahoe "native."
For anyone who loves to keep a journal, write for pleasure or business but sometimes gets in a funk or seeks inspiring tips and hints to help words flow more freely, the Sept. 14 and Sept. 28 outdoor workshops will kick start the process of finding joy in stringing words together. The day begins at 9 a.m. and includes writing prompts as well as a four to six mile hike led by Tahoe Trips and Trails' experienced guide Hauserman who is the author of the official guidebook for the Tahoe Rim Trail, "Monsters in the Woods: Backpacking with Children" and "Cross-Country Skiing in the Sierra Nevada."Hauserman has been a hiking guide since 1998 and he has more than 100 articles published in regional and national publications.
